I was invited for a Fireside Chat at Google's internal conference for their mobile engineering teams - Mobile Week. This conference has been running for over a decade and I was honored to be a part of it. A fun fact that I was informed about is that I was their first external speaker since the conference's inception 🤯 Moreover, having built my career on top of the Android ecosystem, this was a full-circle moment for me.
Our conversation was centered around the following topics:
- Airbnb's mobile stack, and what led us to embrace Jetpack Compose early on
- The impact of this early and bold bet on our engineering capabilities and velocity
- What we've built on top of Compose to make development at our scale possible, such as Showkase and Trio
